This is a PLCC-84 socket compatible module designed by P2 Forum member knivd
-
SWaP is short for Size, Weight, and Power. This module is a
complete core system in a small (~1.25" x 1.25") square board
-
SWaP integrates the P2 microcontroller, power supply, flash, hyperram,
RTC, oscillator, and uSD socket (uSD card not included)
-
The SWaP module is compatible with PLCC-84 socket, but can also be
soldered to a PCB using 1 mm rectangular pin headers, or directly
soldered to a PCB (if there is a square opening in the PCB under the
module)
-
Info on the design of the SWaP module can be found in
this P2 forum thread

- Features:
- The Parallax Propeller II MCU (P2) with 8 cores and 512 kB of internal RAM and 64 Smart I/O Pins
- 20 MHz crystal for P2 (can be replaced
with oscillator with rework)
- Integrated switching regulator with
over/reverse voltage protection
- uSD connector (uSD card not included)
- 16 MB onboard Flash chip for boot program
storage (1 MB) and also data storage (15 MB)
- Hyperram external memory chip (size may
vary, depending on availability)
- Two white LEDs
- RTC (real time clock) module with
integrated oscillator
- 84 pin designed for PLCC-84 socket, but
also include holes for 1 mm rectangular headers. It is also
possible to solder directly to a PCB if a square cut out is made to
avoid parts on bottom side of board.
- Download the
original Schematic (note some parts may
have been substituted due to availability)
- Note: R24 (a 10k pulldown resistor on
P58) has been removed because it interfered with uSD drivers
- This is a new product. Now Available!

- Notes on
Overclocking (running over ~250 MHz)
- SWaP modules are tested at 320 MHz, but
require cooling at high frequency.
